David Benioff and Dan Weiss, creators of 'Game Of Thrones', buy a global offer – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: While millions will be listening to watch the Game of thrones final Sunday night that they wrote and realized who decides once and for all who sits on the iron throne and heads Westeros, Deadline hears David Benioff and DB Weiss has six studios waiting for a cliffhanger on what & They do then. These companies compete to become the place where the duo creates, writes, directs and produces film and television projects.

Deadline has learned that Benioff and Weiss have met with six major media companies who want the duo to sign a global deal with them for film, television and streaming projects. They met with HBO / WarnerMedia, Disney, Comcast, as well as streaming companies Netflix, Amazon and Apple.

They have connections with many of these companies and will not rush into a decision, I am told. After all, when they created Game of thrones Based on the novels of George RR Martin, the show took off so quickly that the duo has focused solely on him for the last decade. They surpassed the intriguing plot established by Martin's first novels and, in subsequent seasons, surpassed the author's narrative.

Although they are aligned to create, write and produce one of the next Star wars trilogies (Rian Johnson does his, with others in preparation), they want to be more prolific but they do not want to be a factory like some of the producers with huge TV-centric deals. I'm sure to find another great TV follow up Game of thrones will be a major priority; but being able to take advantage of this new multi-platform landscape is also a priority.

No one can blame their strategy for focusing solely on Eu: They won the Prime Time Emmy for the best drama in the last three years of the show, a drama that ran counter to the frenzied media strategy of rivals streaming, and which remained the most powerful show of conversation in cold weather, with a final that will shatter the record scores for this last season.

They met with the managers on all the platforms of the six big companies. They have relationships at many of these places. the Star wars the films are at Disney and LucasFilm, while Benioff has written for Universal and Donna Langley a project by Kurt Cobain, and they are about to adapt the history of the prison Dirty White Boys for Emma Watts at Fox. They both have pre-film linksEu at Warner Bros, where Benioff wrote Troy and Weiss worked on the script Poseidon. HBO's longstanding relationship is also very strong.

These meetings had been held prior to the WGA's order for writers to fire their agents. I am told that Benioff & Weiss have adhered to the WGA Code of Conduct and that they will be eliminated by the CAA in areas other than those mentioned in Article 23. They are joined by their long-time lawyer, Gretchen Rush , in all fields other than those referred to in Article 23.
