It’s no secret that Jim Hopper survived his apparent death in Season 3 of Strange things, but season 4 of the Netflix series will reveal a “very big” secret that actor David Harbor has kept a secret for five years. “There’s some fun stuff we’re doing this season, but it’s also the heaviest dramatic stuff I’ve ever had to do,” Harbor said. After playing “this guy who fights with his teenage daughter and sort of trapped in this world of his own darkness” in season 3, the character of Harbor will “reappear as a different human being” in season 4 .
“That way he has that vulnerability to him, and also that brutality that he needs to outlive Russia,” Harbor said. “We can see that other side of him and it’s one of my favorite things.”
Stranger Things 4 sheds light on a “huge” revelation about Hopper’s story that Harbor has kept a secret since season one of Strange things released in 2016.
“There is one thing in there that is playing very big this season that I have known since the first frame of the first season. Me and [series creators] the Duffers would sit and speculate, “Oh, wouldn’t that be cool?” “The minute we started filming,” Harbor teased. “We never thought we’d even have a second season and then we can do that this season.
