Jason Witten seemed to inspire some people, like Martellus Bennett (somehow), coming out of retirement – but not David Ortiz.
The Boston Red Sox legend retired after the 2016 season and has made it clear for some time that the idea of a comeback did not matter to him. Witten, meanwhile, retired from football after the 2017 season and spent 2018 in the ESPN broadcast booth. But earlier in the week, he had a turnaround and announced that he was coming out of retirement.
Nevertheless, Ortiz will sometimes have to answer a question about the possibility of dusting off his cleats, even if that is often joking. The Red Sox legend was at the team's Spring Training Center in Fort. Meyers, Fla., Saturday, making an appearance to chat with some players. He answered a few questions from the media, and one of them was sure he was shooting a Witten.
His answer was classic.
We are sure that Sox fans would like to see more Big Papi, but he seems to be really enjoying his retirement.
