Days Reviewed – GameSpot

Years after its debut, Days Gone is finally available this week. The open world zombie game puts you in the shoes of Deacon St. John, a rough biker turned mercenary after the world went to hell. You'll face Freakers (aka Zombies) and brutal survivor factions in a huge adventure.

Although the game boasts high production values, critics have been mixed. It is often said that the adventure itself is dull or mediocre, and many critics agree that history does not succeed anything interesting with its conflicting hero. This is reflected in GameSpot's own critique.

"I have done a lot of things in Days Gone," said Kallie Plagge. "I burned each Freaker's nest; I cleared all the ambush camps; I maximized my bike; I eliminated some optional hordes for the simple reason." Deacon with Sarah, I continued because I was hoping to find something, to follow a thread a fascinating, satisfying or punchy conclusion, but in the end I only had leftovers. "

Many other outlets have also published their Days Gone reviews. We have collected a sample below to give an overview of the industry. For an even broader overview, check out GameSpot's partner site, Metacritic.

GameSpot – 5/10

"Deacon also has a policy of not killing unarmed women, which does not affect the story and remains totally unexamined." There is no introspection here, Deacon is selfish, and it's boring. that his game is uncritical. "- Kallie Plagge [Full review]

PlayStation Lifestyle – 9/10

"Days Gone checks all the boxes of a proverbial PlayStation exclusive, but never feels like walking on the feet of others." In spite of the games, movies and television on which you can easily comparisons, Days Gone manages all this so that He has his own identity The more I play him, the more I love him, until I finish my long journey and I do not want the adventure Sam Witwer is brilliant like Deacon St. John and his journey of survival, humanity and self-discovery through a deadly world by motorcycle is a memorable moment not to be missed. The Attack of the Fanboy – 8/10

"Days Gone is by no means perfect, but if you are willing to accept some shortcomings, the award is one of the best zombie apocalypse games in the world open to date." – William Schwartz [Full review]

Informer Game – 7.75 / 10

"Days Gone has a good game base." The scarcity of supplies and the omnipresent threat of zombies bothers me as much as it allows me to narrowly escape, but the inability to take full account of history or the open fronts of the world make it a title of both possibilities and limitations. "- Matthew Kato [Full review]

USGamer – 3.5 / 5

"The zombie apocalypse is a traveled territory and Days Gone's open world tour can only differentiate it so much." There is a strong narrative focus, but Deacon St. John is not as weighty as possible. There are strengths and fun tools available in the game, but the game does not push them forward, leaving players less stressful.Gates Days is an excellent base for something better, so hope Bend will have the chance to improve it. "- Mike Williams [Full review]

IGN – 6.5 / 10

"Days Gone, it's as if a movie lasted an hour longer than it should have been or that it should have been. It's disorganized and confused, but dotted with thrilling encounters with raging hordes of zombies and sometimes breathtaking fights. There's a good game here somewhere, but it's buried in a sinuous tale, repetitive missions and too much stuff Compulsory to do without worrying about the smallest details that could have given it much more character. We celebrated what makes this game unique and interesting, but Days Gone runs strictly along the dusty road and never finds its rhythm. "- Lucy O Brien [Full review]

Destructoid – 6/10

"Days Gone has survived the survival of the open world but does not have enough money to pay the rest of the auction rounds, making it one of the strangest releases. In the recent history of AAA, if enough people buy it, its highlights will likely be immortalized in YouTube videos for years to come, yet most people will probably remember it as a zombies game of the open world that does not bring much to the table. With some adjustments to bring to the stimulation, he could have reconciled his warm and frank atmosphere .. look at humanity and been something special " . – Chris Carter [Full review]

Variety – No rating

"There is a vivid and undeniable undercurrent of ambition in the scale and complexity of the Bend Studio developer's creation. And you can say that the effort here is to apply to a structure Open-world Survival Naturally Tense High-Impact Story Type Expect a linear action game, but the result is one of the best examples of what can not work and the damage that such an effort may have on solid foundations, moreover, open world, expanse and narrative potential, the heart of "Days Gone" is too deeply buried for a resurrection even zombified.
