The 2018 Daytona 500 is in progress. The drivers are trying to consolidate their place in the history of NASCAR a year after Austin Dillon took the checkered flag in Dale Earnhardt's No. 3 in long-distance shots from 40 to 1. The race is available on streaming on fuboTV (Try it for free).
Kyle Busch won the first leg of the season, moving from 31st position to the end of the first leg. Busch finished second ahead of Matt DiBenedetto for most of the second leg, but that's Ryan Blaney who took the green and white checkered pattern after staying out after a late warning.
Step 2: Ryan Blaney does the work
Joey Logano pushed the ladder back into the pit shortly after 10 laps. As the newly unveiled Mustangs made their adjustments, DiBenedetto took the lead again. The new driver # 95 led more laps in the first two stages than in his entire career with Team # 32.
DiBenedetto put it in cruise control alongside a group of five other drivers – Kyle Busch, Alex Bowman, William Byron, Erik Jones and Chase Elliott – who operated according to a strategy similar to the stands and are stayed away. This group eventually caught up with the pack, and just as things got worse in the main pack, Parker Kligerman and Casey Mears made contact with the group and set up the caution with 14 points for the group. ;step.
While the six remaining drivers would probably have been eliminated from the fight for the second-leg points, caution allowed them to take advantage without problem and stay in the game. Kyle Busch took advantage of this opportunity by defeating DiBenedetto off track.
Busch took fifth place behind Ryan Blaney, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Preece and Kyle Larson. All four of these drivers remained on the outside during the yellow. Blaney and Keselowski took the top two positions, while Busch, Preece and Larson were eliminated.
Blaney had no trouble holding on to the peloton for the final laps of the second leg, scoring his first green and white checkered flag of the season.

Step 1: Kyle Busch crosses the pack
William Byron led the pack in green alongside Hendrick Motorsports teammate Alex Bowman. Byron led the first laps before merging with Ricky Stenhouse Jr., double winner in the plate race, and Matt DiBenedetto, who went from No. 32 with Go Fas Racing to number 95 with Leavine Family Racing in the off-season. The towers led were the first of DiBenedetto's career in a Daytona 500.
As DiBenedetto took control, about half of the peloton began making his first stops at the green flag of the season, shortly after the 16th lap. Before the second half can reduce tire and fuel performance, Corey LaJoie is the first warning of the day.
Stenhouse appeared as the leader of the restart, followed by Kevin Harvick and Aric Almirola. No. 17 held the lead of the high line for a few laps before Kyle Busch reached the top spot. Busch started the race on the 31st, but took advantage of early caution.
As Kyle Busch took the lead, his older brother, Kurt Busch, stood out and spun with fewer than 10 laps to go in the stage while trying to pass on Stenhouse. Busch contacted Bubba Wallace. Jamie McMurray, at what could be his last NASCAR Cup series start, could not avoid the # 43 and also suffered damage.
Most stands under the final of the yellow stage. Kyle Busch remained at the top of the line by coming in the green and led the last eight laps to win the first leg of the season.
