Warning: Complete spoilers follow for Dark Phoenix.

If you do not want to know this big X-Men Easter egg in the movie, do not read further! But go in that direction if you wonder if Dark Phoenix has a post-credit scene.

The world of Fox's X-Men movie may be coming to an end, but not before making its debut with a last favorite character of the fans. Dazzler finally debuts on the big screen in Dark Phoenix, but only as a cameo and apparently performed by Halston Sage (The Orville). She has no dialogue but she is singing – and she uses her mutant powers to generate a light show while wearing her iconic white outfit – at the X-Men party on the mansion grounds.

We will never see this version of Dazzler become a full member of the X-Men since the Fox series is coming to an end, but its appearance is still a wink to comics fans. And if you're not familiar with everything about Dazzler, here's a quick look at the character.

Who is the Dazzler of Dark Phoenix?

Dazzler should make his film debut in an adaptation of The Dark Phoenix Saga, because it is there that the character first appeared in the comics. Dazzler made his debut in Uncanny X-Men # 130 in 1980, giving a helping hand to the X-Men during their conflict with the Hellfire Club. Dazzler (whose real name is Alison Blaire) did not immediately accept X-Men's offer to join the team, preferring to focus on his solo career. This eventually led to a long solo series and a critically acclaimed graphic novel entitled Dazzler: The Movie.

Dazzler finally joined the X-Men in the late 1980s, finding solace in the team after the revelation of his mutant status annihilated his recording career. There, she made many key relationships, falling in love with Longshot and clashing with the new thug Rogue.

These days, Dazzler tends to drift where the wind wins. She has served on several incarnations of the X-Men, as well as on auxiliary teams like Excalibur. She even had a brief stint as a SHIELD agent. But whether alone or as a member of the X-Men, she played a big role in defending her fellow mutants and the Marvel Universe as a whole.

The mutant powers of Dazzler

The mutant powers of Dazzler are often confused with those of his colleague X-Man Jubilee. Where Jubilee's body is able to generate its own bursts of energy, Dazzler has the ability to channel sound waves into beams of light. She can handle just about any form of sound energy in her environment, but she prefers to use music as a personal backdrop. The rhythmic and predictable patterns of the music allow Dazzler to better control the sound. She can even use her body to store sound energy, such as ammunition for future battles.

Dazzler's light beams can be used for a variety of purposes. She prefers to use her power to organize a good show during her concerts, creating psychedelic light effects to accompany her songs. However, his power can also be used in an offensive way. Dazzler can blind and disorient her enemies, and she can even turn her light beams into thin, destructive laser jets.

Dazzler is not generally considered to be one of the most powerful members of X-Men, but his power increases in parallel with the strength of the sound waves that she manipulates. For example, Galactus has already given him a huge boost in energy, which has fueled Dazzler with the sound of a galaxy being exploded.

Dazzler: Beyond Comics

Dazzler first appeared on the outside of the comics in 1989's Pryde of the X-Men, an animated TV movie intended to serve as a pilot for an ongoing series. Dazzler also appears as a playable character in X-Men: The Arcade Game, based on this canceled animated series.

Instead of Pryde's X-Men, we had the very popular X-Men: The Animated Series in 1992, and Dazzler finally made an appearance there. Appropriately, she played an important role in the first episode of adaptation of this show of The Dark Phoenix Saga. Dazzler also had small roles in the Wolverine and X-Men animated series, as well as in video games such as X-Men Legends II and Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Dazzler was once on the verge of being among the first Marvel characters to get a theatrical movie. Bo Derek had to play in a Dazzler movie in the 80s, but this project eventually collapsed. His first X-Men movie was launched for the first time in 2016 in X-Men: Apocalypse, in a deleted scene where Cyclops and Jean Gray buy one of Dazzler's albums in a record store, but Dazzler is finally appeared in the following movie Dark Phoenix (by Halston Sage). A quick glimpse of Sage while Dazzler made his appearance last month in the video clip "Extraordinary Being" by Emeli Sandé with Dark Phoenix.

While Dazzler will never have a chance to play a leading role in Fox's X-Men franchise, she's expected for a strong comeback in the world of animation. An animated series Dazzler is one of four new Marvel shows developed on Hulu, written and produced by Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler. This series (where Dazzler will team up with compatriot Tigra) will join the other three in a special show dedicated to Netflix called The Offenders.
