De Blasio under fire for dancing in the Times Square desert

New York City dropped the ball again on New Years Eve, but perhaps not as much as its mayor, Bill de Blasio.

Critics denounce the Big Apple boss for dancing on national television while the rest of the city has been urged to stay indoors and socially distant during the coronavirus pandemic.

Against the backdrop of a nearly empty Times Square, de Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, danced together on stage at the famous monument. Usually it is full of people who do the same on New Years Eve.

Meghan McCain, co-host of ‘The View’ tweeted: ‘You’ve always been basically the worst politician in modern history – but shutting down NYC but having your own private party in Times Square is really * the bosses’ hug * the dullest thing in tone I might have seen a mayor do before. Everybody hates you DeBlasio. “

TV personality Andy Cohen, who co-hosted a New Years Eve show on CNN with Anderson Cooper, tore De Blasio apart on TV.

Cooper took a drink, then began to gag, seemingly disgusted with the taste.

“This is how I felt when I saw Mayor De Blasio dancing earlier,” Cohen said. “I just don’t need to see this early in 2021.”

Cohen then became visibly angry, stretching out his arms and shouting, “Do something with this town! Honestly, come together!”

A representative for de Blasio said the incident was, “This is not the first time I have heard a drunken person complain about someone’s dance moves.”
