The Netflix series Death for me will live on. The streaming giant has announced that the black comedy starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini has been renewed for a second season. The news was announced Monday night at the FYSee panel of the show in Los Angeles.

Created by Liz Feldman (2 broken girls) Death for me focuses on Jen (Applegate), a sardonic widow intent on solving the murder of her husband, and Judy (Cardellini), an optimistic free spirit who has recently suffered its own tragic loss. When the two women meet in a support group, they become improbable friends, despite their opposing personalities. But as they stick to bottles of wine, Entenmann's biscuits and a common affinity for The facts of lifeJudy tries desperately to protect Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

The show also stars James Marsden, Ed Asner and Brandon Scott. After his debut May 3, he was ranked first in Netflix in the UK.

Feldman will act as a showrunner and executive producer on Season 2. The show is produced by CBS Television Studios for Netflix. The executive producers are Jessica Elbaum of Gloria Sanchez Productions, Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Christie Smith and Applegate.
