The half-brother of rock superstar Prince died, leaving five siblings Prince to share the musician's fortune.

An Alfred Jackson lawyer, Asa Weston, said Friday that the 66-year-old man had died Wednesday night or Thursday morning in his home near Kansas City, Missouri. He says that the cause of death is unknown.

Jackson was the son of Mattie Baker, Prince's mother, and Alfred Jackson's father.

Prince died of an accidental overdose of opioids in 2016 without leaving a will. His property is still tied to legal proceedings in Minnesota.

Jackson told Entertainment Tonight in 2016 that he had not seen or talked with Prince for nearly 15 years, although a lawyer later clarified that Jackson had indeed had "interviews and sporadic visits "with Prince during those years.

This story corrects Thursday night to Thursday morning.
