Death of Freeda, daughter of George Foreman, and Twitter sends condolences

FReeda Foreman, the daughter of the former heavyweight boxing champion George Foreman, died on Saturday. Foreman, 42, was found unresponsive in his home in Houston. Condolences to the family flooded social media.

A family member discovered his body, according to TMZ, one of the first media outlets to announce his death. The investigators stated that they did not suspect any criminal act and that they were waiting for the coroner's report on the cause of his death.

Like her famous father, Freeda Foreman was a professional boxer who started her career in 2000. In the ring, she was an imposing figure for a boxer, measuring 5 feet 11 inches tall, according to The Ring. She had a total of six professional fights and ended her career with a 5-1 record, which included three knockouts.

Foreman entered professional boxing at a time when girls from other famous 1970s heavyweight champions also joined the sport. Laila Ali, the daughter of Muhammad Ali, and Joe FrazierThe daughter of Jacqui Frazier-Lyde competed professionally at the same time.

Foreman dreamed of fighting Laila Ali to avenge his father's late father, Muhammad Ali, in the 1974 ironic match "Rumble in the Jungle," in which Ali defeated George Foreman.

Foreman recalled that his father did not want his children to follow in his footsteps.

"Dad never wanted his kids to see him fight. He has always protected us from this world, "she said in an interview with the London Mirror in 2000." With five brothers, there was a lot of fighting going on at home. When Dad was at home, we would run around the house, argue and beat my three younger brothers!

One of his brothers, George III, also turned pro, recording a record of 16-0 with 15 knockouts. It is believed that his father persuaded him in 2012 to leave the sport before challenging the best fighters.

George Foreman, 70, won an Olympic gold medal in boxing in 1968. The former heavyweight champion had a successful professional career that included, besides Ali, matches against Frazier and Ken Norton. After retiring from the ring, Foreman became a successful television and marketing specialist, including George Foreman grills.

Freeda Foreman, originally from Texas, was one of George Foreman's five daughters. He also has five sons, all named George. She is survived by her husband and two daughters.
