According to TMZ, METAL CHURCH singer Mike howeThe official cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation from hanging. A spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department said authorities at the site were calling it suicide.
Cops received a call Monday morning (July 26) just after 10 a.m. in Eureka, Calif., Reporting an unexpected death in a house. As the deputies arrived, they found the 55-year-old dead at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol were not factors in the death, police said, and no controlled substances or paraphernalia were found at the scene.
Howe, who faced METAL CHURCH from 1988 to 1994, officially joined the group in April 2015.
Before joining METAL CHURCH more than three decades ago, Howe spent two years leading a Californian metal band HERETIC.
The reunion between Mike and METAL CHURCH was set in motion in July 2014 when Mike started working with the guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof on a side project Kurdish was formed with Nigel glockler of SAXON. Through these first conversations, Kurdish convinced Mike to finally come back to METAL CHURCH. The idea was to see if they could find some of the magic of the three albums.
