Death of Skydive Carolina: a woman performing an "advanced parachute maneuver" killed during a skydiving in South Carolina

Chester, S.C. – South Carolina County Emergency Executives said that a woman had died from a forced parachute landing. Chester County coroner Terry Tinker told the media that the 33-year-old woman died from blunt trauma.

She was jumping with Skydive Carolina. In a press release obtained by CBS subsidiary WBTV, the company said its parachute was fully operational and deployed without incident. An "advanced parachute maneuver" caused him injury on landing.

The company also said that the Charlotte woman was an experienced paratrooper with more than 800 previous dives. His name was not immediately published.

This is the third paratrooper experienced to die at Skydive Carolina since 2016. A 68 year old woman died last year after a malfunction in the air 32 year old man is deceased after hitting another diver in full flight.

WBTV reports that it is the fifth death since 2009.
