Death of wrestling star Daffney condemned suicide

Former WCW Star DaffneyThe death of was deemed a suicide by the Georgian authorities … TMZ Sports has learned.

According to the death certificate, released on Monday, the former wrestler died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

As we previously reported, Daffney – real name Shannon Spruill – was found dead on September 2 … after registering on Instagram Live. look suicidal.

In the videos, Daffney could be heard saying, “Don’t you understand that I’m on my own?” Don’t you understand that?

She later said, “Remember, my brain is going to Boston.”

Daffney’s good friend, fellow wrestler Lexie fyfe, told TMZ Sports Daffney had struggled with mental health issues in the weeks leading up to his death.

Daffney played in WCW from 1999-2001 … and after her passing wrestling legends are fondly remembered by her, including Mick foley, who said: “She was way ahead if she had spent any time at our company. #RIPDaffney.”

She was 46 years old.
