LSU senior catcher Dee Anderson has been suspended for the remainder of the season for failing to meet fitness requirements, said Tigers coach Ed Orgeron Thursday afternoon.

Anderson, who is 6-foot-6, 229 pounds, never joined the team for the 2019 season and was suspended for an indefinite period before the start of the pre-season for what Orgeron called a "conditioner".

"Dee Anderson is suspended from the football team for the year," Orgeron said.

The Texas native was the sixth catcher in 2018, with 20 assists for 274 yards and one touchdown. He caught a third pass against Auburn, thus extending LSU's victorious training.

In three seasons at LSU, Anderson had 27 catches for 392 yards and one touchdown.

LSU has 15 wide receivers remaining on its 2019 lineup, and its three starters – Justin Jefferson, Ja Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall – totaled 572 yards and nine touchdowns in two games.
