Hall of Fame cornerback and Head Coach Deion Sanders Jackson State football, left an interview on Tuesday after a reporter refused to call him a “coach.”
Sanders, who is entering his sophomore year with Jackson State, corrected a reporter after calling him by his first name on media day at the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

“Take a step back. You don’t call [Alabama’s] Nick Saban ‘Nick’. Don’t call me ‘Deion’, ”Sanders said, interrupting Clarion-Ledger reporter Nick Suss.
“I call Nick Saban ‘Nick’,” replied Suss.
“No, you don’t. No, you don’t. That’s a lie,” Sanders retorted. “If you call Nick ‘Nick’ you are immediately insulted. So don’t do that and treat me like Nick.”
Suss, not taking Sanders’ advice, replied, “Okay, Deion.”

The NFL legend, feeling aggrieved, removed his helmet and walked away.
“I never left media day,” Sanders, who calls himself Coach Prime on his Twitter account, said in a tweet. “I extended my time to answer another question and the person thought it was cute to address me like he did, so I dropped the call and went to the point next sale. Please don’t let a fool fool you because then no one would really let him know who the fool is. “
Suss explained to register that he calls all those he interviews by their first name.

Saban was asked about the situation during an appearance on the SEC media day on Wednesday.
“Look, I answer just about anything and I’ve been called just about anything,” Saban said, via AL.com. “It’s not something that is important to me.”
