The Dell OptiPlex 7070 Ultra installs the desktop PC in a floor-less screen mount and designed for open workplaces.

The design, a little weird, is for both employees and IT departments. It's a needle that the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra should be able to thread. Dell increasingly offers end-user and employee peripherals, and provides tools for enterprise deployment and management.

Some notable points:

  • Companies can independently upgrade the PC and display.
  • A monitor that contains and integrates the PC has physical security options to limit tampering.
  • The design can be used for multiple users in open floor plans.
  • The desktop can use up to Intel Core vPro i7 processors, 64GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD or a 2TB hard drive.

With the OptiPlex 7070, Dell is really playing for the market of two work screens and easy exchanges. The OptiPlex 7070 Ultra can support up to three displays when power, data, video and audio are transmitted via a cable to the Dell USB-C Monitors.

Not surprisingly, Dell happens to be one of the leading screen providers. The OptiPlex 7070 Ultra can also be used to extend Dell's Unified Workspace end-user computing platform.

Dell has also launched an OptiPlex 7071Tower for virtual reality training and corporate uses with processors up to the new eight-core Intel Core W9 95W processor.
