Enough is enough: Delta Air Lines is relying on this damn health care plan to get its employees vaccinated. If you want to work on their planes and you’re on their health insurance, you’ll have to get the jab or pay $ 200 a month.

In a employee memo Sent today, Delta CEO Ed Bastian pitched the decision as a security deposit for potential covid-19-related medical bills, which oddly might be a more acceptable argument for people who oppose the commie warrants.

“The average hospital stay for COVID-19 cost Delta $ 50,000 per person,” Bastian said. “This supplement will be necessary to address the financial risk that the decision not to vaccinate creates for our business. He added that every Delta employee who has been hospitalized with covid-19 has not been vaccinated. The company will start charging the fee on November 1, which is plenty of time to get two doses.

As of September 30, Delta will also only offer covid salary protection to vaccinated employees with covid-19, “in accordance with state and local laws,” Bastian wrote.

But elsewhere, the memo does not back down from the obvious, namely that this is a necessary health protocol to prevent a deadly virus from spreading to those of its 459 destinations where travel is open. Bastian tactfully pointed out “variant B.1.617.2” (the variant, ahem, delta), noting that the spike in related deaths and hospitalizations clearly correlates with the unvaccinated population. Unvaccinated employees will be required to wear masks “in Delta settings,” which extends its indoor mask requirement from customer-only areas to employee-only areas such as break rooms. By September 12, these employees will also have to pass weekly covid-19 tests.

In May, Delta had already started requiring new recruits must be vaccinated and 75% of its workforce is already vaccinated, Bastian said.

Unvaccinated employees would not find much leeway at a growing number of other airlines, especially United Where Hawaii Airlines, which will accommodate religious and health exemptions but will require negative test results. Frontier also requires regular testing for unvaccinated employees. Amtrak, Bank of America, disney world, and CVS are among many other large employers with similar policies, of which Fortune maintains a shopping list.

Employee lawsuits have followed one after the other in the courts. In June, a federal judge thrown a lawsuit by employees of a Texas hospital who compared the vaccine forces heinous Nazi experiments, calling the argument “reprehensible”. Prolonged legal war seems inevitable.
