DeMarcus Cousins signs a one-year contract with the Houston Rockets after missing the entire 2019-20 season while recovering from his left ACL tear.
Cousins was a member of the Los Angeles Lakers until February. The former big man All-Star is thankful that the Rockets give him a chance at Clutch City, by Marc J. Spears of the undefeated.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that DeMarcus Cousins worked for the Rockets on Monday and impressed the organization.
Cousins has NBA career averages of 21.2 points, 10.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 565 games with the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors. The Rockets, who are handling commercial demands from James Harden and Russell Westbrook, must hope that the addition of Cousins will change Harden and Westbrook’s mind about wanting to leave Houston.
Cousins was an NBA superstar. However, his Achilles tear with the Pelicans, his quad tear with the Warriors, and his ACL tear with the Lakers ruined what was to be a Hall of Fame career for Boogie.
The entire basketball world is praying that Cousins can stay healthy with the Rockets and reclaim his place among the league’s top centers. Going forward, however, all eyes will be on Harden and Westbrook and whether or not they will stay in Houston.
