Demi Lovato says she identifies as pansexual.
The “Confident” singer, who has previously been shown to be sexually fluid, said in a new interview on “The Joe Rogan Experience” that she was unsure whether she would end up with a male or female partner – or if she’d be. never pregnant.
“Right now I want to adopt [children] of course, ”she explained. “I also don’t know if I’m going to end up with a guy, so I don’t even see myself getting pregnant.
“I don’t know. I’m so fluid now, and part of the reason I’m so fluid is that I was super locked up.
Rogan then asked if “sexually fluid” meant she was interested in both men and women. After saying yes, he clarified, “What do they call that? “Pansexual”? “
“Yeah, pansexual,” Lovato replied. “[I like] nothing? Really.”
The “Dancing With the Devil” singer joked that she had heard someone refer to the LGBTQIA + community as the “alphabet mafia” and she loved it.
“I’m part of the alphabet mafia and I’m proud,” she laughs. “Why can’t we all say queer, all of you?” No just kidding.
Lovato recalled the start of his sexual arousal, which occurred while watching “Cruel Intentions” and watching Selma Blair and Sarah Michelle Gellar kiss. But she felt she had to bury her feelings.
“[I] felt a lot of shame because growing up in Texas as a Christian is frowned upon, ”she explained. “I stopped him before I even let me process what I was feeling.”
Although she was engaged to a man last year – actor Max Ehrich – Lovato said she has no idea what kind of person she will be forever.
“I was engaged to a man last year. I totally thought I would be married, maybe pregnant right now, and I’m not, so I stopped attaching myself to – I know my life is not going according to my plan ”, she says.
