The protests went hand in hand with the Republican Congressional dispute over election results ahead of Biden’s scheduled inauguration on January 20.

Twitter suspended Trump’s account after a series of tweets that did little to quell the ongoing violence.
“We demanded the removal of three @realDonaldTrump tweets that were posted earlier today for repeated and serious violations of our civic integrity policy,” the social media company said.
