Actress Denise Nickerson, better known as Violet's film "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," died at the age of 62, her family announced in a message posted Wednesday on Facebook.

"She's gone," reads the message published a few days after the hospitalization of the former child star for "medical emergency," Entertainment Weekly reported.

She left.

On Monday, family members said Nickerson "has had seizures this morning and is in respiratory and pulmonary distress".

"The doctors discovered that she was aspiring and developing pneumonia," the family wrote on Facebook at the time.
