Denise Richards climbs aboard to star in family comedy The Junkyard Dogs
Denise Richards is about to return to the big screen by signing the new family comedy The Junkyard Dogs.
The 50-year-old actress boarded the film, which is directed by Jacob Cooney (The Assault), according to Deadline.
The film is slated for an overnight theatrical release via VMI Releasing in mid-2022, although it is not clear when production could begin.

The story follows a dog named Houdini, who is also a master escape artist, and teams up with a group of neighborhood dogs to prevent their neighborhood from being robbed by a pair of dumb scammers.
Richards will play Monica Sullivan, a single mother of two who is very busy with her upcoming marriage.
She doesn’t realize that her children and their beloved dog are hatching a plan to stop thieves and keep their neighborhood from descending into chaos.

Chad A. Verdi, Chelsea Vale, David Gere, Chad A. Verdi Jr. and Paul Luba produce The Junkyard Dogs.
Verdi Productions provides funding for the film, with VMI Worldwide taking care of worldwide sales.
Richards has been very busy after leaving Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills last year.

She returned to play Shauna Fulton on the hit CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful and also stars in a pair of upcoming shows, Paper Empire and Glow & Darkness.

She also has several projects in post-production including Love Accidentally with Brenda Song and Aaron O’Connell and Saturday at the Starlight with Abigail Breslin, Brec Bassinger and Michael Madsen.
