Denise Richards pictured for the first time since abuse allegations of her daughter Sami

Denise Richards has been pictured for the first time since her 17-year-old daughter, Sam ‘Sami’ Sheen, made shocking statements about an allegedly “abusive” family life with the star.

Sami claimed that living with Denise, 50, and her stepfather Aaron Phypers, 48, had been like “hell” and also “abusive”, preventing her from eating or sleeping, which l ’caused her to become “incredibly depressed”.

The teenager has since returned to live with her father, Denise’s ex-husband Charlie Sheen, who later said in a statement that they were “having fun” together.

The ex-RHOBH star and actress – who is said to be “saddened” by the allegations – was seen casually dressed without makeup and her tousled blonde hair as she returned from Canada to Los Angeles on Friday.

Despite the allegations, a source told PEOPLE that Denise “sets normal rules that any parent will make.”

“She is a mother and a parent and there are rules. [Sami] didn’t want to follow the rules, ”the source continued.

“Charlie did not support the implementation of Denise’s rules. He has a different way of being a parent and Sami has decided to live with his father.

The source added: “Denise loves her daughter very much and she is saddened by the situation.”

The Southern California-raised teenager added in another clip that she had now dropped out of high school, felt “self-love” and had a “spiritual awakening.”

TikTok videos have since been made private.

Denise has a total of three children: Sami and Lola Rose, 16, whom she had with her ex-husband Charlie, and her adopted daughter Eloise.

Sami also has half-sister Cassandra Jade Estevez, whom Charlie shares with his high school girlfriend, and half-brothers Bob and Max.

Denise, Aaron and their children rented a house in Malibu after being displaced by the Woolsey fire in 2018.

Sam looked upset and emotional when she appeared in the clip while wearing a black hoodie, saying, “1 year ago today: trapped in abusive household, hated me, would pass days without eating or sleeping, incredibly depressed, hated school etc. . ‘

Sam was then seen in a better mood when she said: “Now: finally left the house of hell, had a spiritual awakening, owns 2 cats, happy single, full of self-love and has given up on high school :).”

Charlie, 56, commented on the situation through his rep saying, “Sam is amazing. I love him and all my kids unconditionally. We’re having a blast. GED here we are!”
