Washington state first-year forward Trinity Rodman, daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, is among the players available for selection in Wednesday’s NWSL Draft.

Rodman, 20, has long been a star for America’s youth national teams, dazzling observers with his speed and finishing ability. She scored eight goals and six assists for the squad that won the 2020 CONCACAF Women’s Under-20 Championship last March.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 girls’ college football season has been postponed to spring 2021, meaning Rodman has never been able to dress for the Cougars.

The draft has lost its luster with news that Stanford forward Catarina Macario has signed a 2.5-year contract with European champion Olympique Lyonnais, but Rodman is among those expected to be caught in the first round.

Other possible first-round picks are University of North Carolina midfielder / striker Brianna Pinto, Stanford defenseman / midfielder Kiki Pickett and UNC defenseman Emily Fox.

Racing Louisville FC holds the first overall pick as well as the fifth pick in the first round. Sky Blue FC has three of the top eight caps, including No.3 and No.4.

The NWSL Draft takes place Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed live exclusively on Twitch.
