Denver Nuggets Jamal Murray: "I like to compete against Lady"

One person is thrilled to face Damian Lillard in the next round between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Denver Nuggets: Jamal Murray. Murray, who scored 36.8 seconds before Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs to win the Nuggets' first-round series, said he was enthusiastic about NBC Sports Northwest's Dwight Jaynes. Jaynes asked about the back match, and Murray had this to say:

I like to compete against lady. he is a competitor. He attacks you, does not disrespect you, he just plays the right way, plays for his team, plays for his city, so I like going against him, it's going to be a challenge. It's going to be a lot of fun. It will be a nice series, so I'm excited.

In the seventh game of the series, Murray had 23 points, five rebounds and four assists. In the series, he averaged 19 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. Although this is not necessarily the game to watch – this honor belongs to Nikola Jokic and whoever will face it outside the Blazers' staff – it's something to watch for.
