Deshaun Watson ‘trying to have a little patience’ amid commercial buzz

Deshaun Watson cited Future on his Twitter account Tuesday, perhaps to shed light on his future with the Houston Texans.

The hapless star quarterback has been the subject of business speculation since the end of the regular season, landing on the Post’s back page earlier this week as the Jets’ suggested business target. Watson’s official Instagram account even “liked” a screenshot of the headline “WATever It Takes,” which was posted by Yonkers entrepreneur Wayne Schneider.

“I tried to have a little patience, I told my mum she should pray about it,” Watson tweeted, quoting rapper Future’s 2014 song, “Codeine Crazy.”

Watson, 25, looked increasingly impatient with the Texans earlier this month as owner Cal McNair and VP of football operations Jack Easterby broke his promises to give him his opinion on the decisions to fill the organization’s coaching and CEO openings after Bill O’Brien was fired in October.

Houston hired New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as the new general manager on January 7, apparently without consulting Watson.

The Texans announced Monday that they have completed talks with Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, Ravens assistant head coach David Culley and Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. They had also previously met with Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady, former Lions head coach Jim Caldwell and former Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.

Watson hasn’t officially requested a trade, according to Pro Football Talk, but the Jets are armed with the runner-up overall in the 2021 NFL Draft among top four players over the next two years.

Watson also comes with a reasonable cap of just $ 15.94 million next season, although it is expected to climb to $ 40.4 million and $ 42.4 million in the following two years.
