Desmond Howard reacts to Jack Nicklaus choosing Wisconsin over Michigan

It’s Saturday in the fall, and that means there has been another gathering of college football spirits on ESPN known as College GameDay. Everyone’s favorite ambassador to the state of Ohio, Kirk Herbstreit, and fellow GameDay comrades Michigan man Desmond Howard, Lee Corso and Rece Davis gathered to take their picks on the biggest games in during the day, as usual.

And if you’ve watched the show enough, you know they’ve instituted celebrity selectors over the past few years. This time, they paid tribute to the Masters Tournament which is currently being played by bringing in former Ohio State golfer and PGA legend Jack Nicklaus as one of the celebrities.

The punchline is that the team asked Nicklaus to pick the winner from Michigan and Wisconsin. Yeah, you know where it’s going.

“Well, I’m sorry Desmond (Howard) but, I’m a Buckeye, I have to go with Wisconsin,” Nicklaus said.

It was all said in front of one of the biggest Michigan circuits in Michigan circuit history at Howard, so you would expect an answer that would throw a little corn and blue at Nicklaus. However, you might be surprised at the reaction of the former Heisman winner to the prediction.

Watch Howard shock everyone on set by what he does in response. Then watch how another Buckeye, Herbstreit, reacts to what Howard says.

Yes Michigan, this is where it is. Even a guy who chooses against the tide in favor of the no-fault Wolverines can’t even bring himself to do it anymore.
