Destiny 2 Witch Queen released in February 2022, adds weapon crafting

Bungie finally revealed Destiny 2‘s Witch queen expansion today and it looks like that’s exactly what the game needs, even though it won’t launch until February 22, 2022.

Witch queen will focus on Savathûn, the hive god of cunning and cunning, and see players explore his throne world as they finally attempt to face the destiny villain who had until then been confined to the shadows. Savathûn is real though, very large, and absolutely appears to be one of the game’s biggest enemies for years, with the ability to alienate the Light of the Traveler itself.

The new annual expansion will bring a new type of Glaive weapon with melee combos and projectile attacks, as well as two new dungeons arriving throughout Year 5. Destiny 2 finally gets a crafting system. We don’t know much about how it works, but players will be able to craft their own weapons and improve them over time. If it wasn’t a full-fledged MMORPG before, it sure will be now. Witch queenThe s story campaign will also include a new difficulty system that will adapt to your squad size and begin the transition to the new, more customizable Stasis subclass system from within Void.

There has been a ton of speculation about Witch queen ever since Bungie made the unprecedented decision to announce it over a year earlier this past summer when it teased Destiny 2’s upcoming expansions as part of a cohesive mini-trilogy. The rumor mill has moved up a gear this summer following the arrival of alleged large leaks which, if true, would destiny the universe on its head, and today Bungie has confirmed that some of them are correct.

Not only will Savathûn’s offspring be deadly on their own, his hive will also use its own ghosts, artifacts that were previously thought to be only available to the heroes of Destiny. Based on the trailer, it looks like these new Hive enemies will follow a similar class system to the Warlock, Titan, Hunter that players are filtered into.

Usually, Destiny 2the next annual expansion of will only take place in a few weeks, but repeated delays during the covid-19 pandemic have significantly set back the overall live service game schedule. Last years Beyond the light only arrived in November, extending the arrival season by a few more months. And with Witch queen not coming until next year, it will be interesting to see how Bungie handles the constant flow of updates launch today of season 15. The studio said Trials of Osiris will receive a new anti-cheat update on September 10 and solo queues, while a special Bungie 30th Anniversary content pack will go live for the game in December.

The seasons that arrive during the traditional annual expansion tend to be a bit drab compared to some of their mid-year counterparts. Hopefully Season of the Lost holds up the wait and continues to pile up until Witch queen worth it.
