The Chicago Bears had made it a policy from the beginning not to leave any of their main starters near the field during the pre-season. Davis could be a huge loss because of the potential weakness of Lions at the linebacker position. Apart from him, they have Devon Kennard and Christian Jones as starters. Not exactly a stacked range. This would have the effect of forcing second-round rookie Jahlani Tavai to take his starting position at the linebacker. It looks like he looks strong in the camp, but it is a huge void to fill. Especially for a rookie with his lack of experience.
The loss of Ragnow is almost as serious. Their home offensive line was already questionable, allowing nine sacks of the day in 2018. With him out of the table, the situation is even more dubious, with Leo Koloamatangi becoming the next player unless the Lions mix up somebody else. Other in the center, like Graham Glasgow. Matthew Stafford's life could be much more difficult. As if it was not already the case.
