After a long day of free agent selection, the Detroit Lions would be interested in four-time Pro Bowl Pro Bowl agent, C.J. Mosley.
The Detroit Lions had a first day of free competition with the opening of the legal sabotage period Monday. The Lions have either signed or agreed to an agreement with several big veterans, including wide receiver Danny Amendola, defensive back Trey Flowers, cornerback Justin Coleman and tight half Jesse James.
Now, another big free agent name has become a potential target for Lions. according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL network via Pro Football Talk, Detroit is one of many teams interested in signing former Baltimore Ravens linebacker, C.J. Mosley.
Selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft (17th overall) in Alabama, Mosley has spent the past five seasons as a member of the Ravens. He has been nominated for the Pro Bowl four times and named All-Pro twice.
The talented and long-time 26-year-old posted three-digit totals each season but only once and missed three games in five years. Last season, Mosley had 105 total tackles, five defensive passes, one interception and a 0.5 bag in 15 games. He missed a match due to a knee injury in the third week.
Ravens are very interested in keeping Mosley Jeff Zrebiec, athlete reported that Baltimore had recently increased his contract offer to the linebacker in an attempt to induce him to return. But apparently, the offer remains lower than that offered by other teams. One of these teams could be the Lions.
According to rumors, the Detroit Lions would likely be the landing place for linebacker Anthony Barr of the Minnesota Vikings. The fact that Detroit is also likely to interest C.J. Mosley might mean that Barr is not in their plans, that Mosley is listed higher on their wish list or that Lions simply keep all their options open.
