A murder suspect spoke to his victim moments before shooting him dead Sunday outside a Detroit gas station in what police described as a “random execution for no reason.”
The murder took place around 7:30 p.m. when the suspect gave the victim money, who FOX-affiliated WJBK-TV said was a beggar, before walking away.
The gunman then returned to the victim and shot him once and fled, police said.
The victim was declared dead on the spot. Authorities have not disclosed the motive for the murder.
“A lot of our homicides are people who know each other, maybe domestic incidents, but in this case it looks like a random execution for no reason and is of great concern to us,” said the Detroit Police Captain. James McGinnis at the media. .
The station said the victim was a man in his 50s who frequently hung out near the gas station.

The alleged shooter is described as white, measuring five feet nine inches.
