Meet the new Tigers, from round six:

Editor’s Note: This story will be updated after each selection in Rounds 6-10.

Vital: 6 feet 2, 218 pounds.

Defeat / throw: Left / left.

Written: Sixth round (n ° 165 overall).

The buzzing: The 22-year-old reached 0.319 with seven homers, 32 RBIs, 21 walks and 40 strikeouts in 54 games for the Wolfpack as a senior in 2021. Murr played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Des Moines Area Community College before transferring to NC State before 2020, where he played a shortened 17-game season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, he played 53 games at first base and one game at left field. The Tigers look set to test him as a full-time outfielder.

Vital: 6-6, 250.

Defeat / throw: Left / left.

Written: Seventh round (n ° 195 in total).

The buzzing: He’s recorded a 5-4 record, 3.90 ERA, 19 walks and 83 strikeouts this season. He missed the end of the 2019 season – having made 10 appearances and nine starts – and the entire 2020 campaign shortened with Tommy John surgery. He will be 23 at the beginning of September. As for his pitch mix, Hurter throws a fastball, a slider and a change. While he only hits the mid-90s with his fastball, his command has kept him in the starting rotation.

Vital: 6-2, 220.

Defeat / throw: Left right.

Written: Eighth round (n ° 225 in total).

The buzzing: Hailing from Sarnia, Canada, the 22-year-old recorded a 10-2 record, a 2.54 ERA, 20 walks and 101 strikeouts as a senior in 2021. These results have helped him to get 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings and 1.9 walks per nine innings. He throws a fastball, a cursor and a change, but he’s mostly respected for his above-average control. Marks’ fastball averages between 90-94 mph, but can hit the upper 90s. Commanding his fastball is one of the keys to his success, but the big leagues – if he can – will test his side throws.
