Detroit woman drags man by locs after finding stolen Mercedes Benz

“I went inside, asked him if it was his car and hit him,” said Bianca Chambers, the victim.

A Detroit woman refused to wait for police to find the suspected thief who stole her Mercedes Benz, so she took matters into her own hands.

Bianca rooms posted about his stolen car on Facebook and the post went viral. She used social media tips to track her car around town. At one point, the thief hit the mall where she has a store. She followed her car for three days, calling the police whenever she found it. But by the time the police arrived on the scene, the thief was gone.

The last time she found him, Chambers took matters into his own hands, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.

When the suspected thief boldly stopped at the barber shop on Wednesday, Chambers decided to stop on him.

“At that point, I was like… I wouldn’t let this man walk anymore,” she said.

Chambers live streamed the experience from outside the Greenfield and Grand River Barber Shop.

“He’s at 7 Days West twisting his dreds,” she said on Facebook Live while looking at her car. She even punctured all four tires so that he wouldn’t run away.

“They were driving, they were having fun, they were smoking but, yeah, when I got my car it was very clean,” Chambers said, noting that the alleged thief detailed the car.

Video shows the confrontation that took place inside the barbershop between Chambers and the alleged car thief. He initially denied being the driver of the car and that’s when Chambers broke down.

“I walked inside, asked him if it was his car and hit him,” she said. The Detroit News. The video shows her grabbing the suspected thief by her dreadlocks and dragging him out of the store. Customers helped arrest citizens until authorities arrived.

“I punctured all the tires and thought it was going to take off and I didn’t know how long it would take the police to pull over. And I refused to let him get away with it again, ”she said.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested the man, whose name has not been released.

“We have a victim who allegedly stole this car who was assaulted, but he didn’t want to press charges, so [Chambers] was not arrested, ”2nd Deputy Detroit Police Chief Rudy harper Told Detroit News.

Officers said the people who helped arrest the man failed to make a proper citizen arrest.

“But it was not a citizen arrest; it was a criminal assault. She even admits on the video that she assaulted the man, ”Harper added.

“Well, I guess I would have just taken the assault charge, then,” Chambers replied. “I mean, this guy is riding in my car. Now he’s got his hair done, about to pick up anyone and go for a ride. It is simply not true.

According to reports, the accused thief has a history of auto theft. He will not file a complaint against Chambers for assaulting him.

Chambers called him “the dumbest criminal” because of the way he went “joyriding in my car like no one was going to see him,” she said.
