Deutsche Bank leaders agree to informal talks on merger with Commerzbank


The leaders of Deutsche Bank AG have agreed to discuss with Commerzbank AG rival of a possible merger, while the two largest German banks are exploring strategic options after a long period of falling prices and performance, have said relatives of banks.

The informal talks reflect a growing willingness by Deutsche Bank's board of directors to engage in a possible rapprochement, though leaders have continued this week to consider a potential merger as an option, some people said.
