Of Hyper light Drifter Heart Machine Studio, Solar ash arrives on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC through the Epic Games Store later in 2021. The developer showed off new images of the sleek alien world during Sony’s State of the Game presentation on Thursday.
Heart Machine revealed for the first time Solar ash in 2019. The game’s aesthetic – rich in purple and pink tones – feels tied to the studio’s heritage. But unlike Hyper light Drifter, which is a top-down pixelated game, Solar ash is a dynamic 3D game. Solar ash Creative Director Alx Preston showed and described the gameplay in an almost 3-minute video at the Sony event. Preston has stated that the player takes control of Ash, as part of a mission to save his planet, using “fast and smooth” movement and combat.
“Solar ash is Heart Machine’s vision for the adventure platform game, ”Preston said during the video. “The giant spaces, the feel of movement, the fluidity of combat and the high stakes battles atop huge beasts come together to offer players something that we think is incredibly unique and, more importantly, fun.
Annapurna Interactive will release the game when it releases later this year.
