MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police say three men were arrested in connection with an early morning shootout at a St. Paul bar that left a woman dead and 14 people injured.
St. Paul Police Chief Todd Axtell said the three men – a man aged 33, 29 and 32 – were currently in hospital with injuries sustained in the shooting.
I have an update on the homicide investigation this morning that I would like to share with you.
Three men have been arrested in connection with this morning’s shooting and the tragic death of a woman in her 20s.

WCCO generally does not name suspects until prosecutors charge them with a crime.
Police would like anyone with information about the shooting to call 651-266-5650.
Filming began just after midnight early Sunday morning at Seventh Street Truck Park. Police said several 911 callers “frantically took help” moments after the attack.

A woman who police said was in her twenties has died. Fourteen other people were taken to hospitals in the region for treatment. All should survive. The Good Samaritans worked with the police to help the victims while paramedics attended the scene.
“I can only describe it as hellish,” said St. Paul Police spokesman Steve Linders. “I think of the young woman who died. One minute she’s having a good time, the next minute she’s lying in the arms of her friends trying to save her life, and she hasn’t made it. I can’t think of anything worse.

Police did not say whether the three hospitalized suspects were among 14 people initially injured in the chaos.
But investigators said preliminary information indicates there were multiple shooters. A reason has yet to be determined.
“My heart breaks for the woman who was killed, her loved ones and everyone who was at this bar this morning,” Axtell said in an earlier statement. “In an instant, they found themselves in a hell of a situation. I want them to know that we have the best investigators in the country, and we won’t stop until we find those responsible for this madness. We will do our part to hold them accountable. “
Later, Axtell tweeted that he had spoken with the family of the woman who was killed and that they are “absolutely devastated”.
“We will do justice to the victims,” he promised at the time.

“Our community is devastated by the shocking scenes last night,” Carter said. “As our Saint Paul agents strive to detain those responsible for these senseless acts, our work to develop more proactive and comprehensive public safety strategies is more urgent than ever. We will never accept violence in our community.
Investigators have yet to publicly identify the deceased woman. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy and release his name and the exact cause of death.
