Devil May Cry Creator Teases Upcoming Game

After releasing The devil can cry 5 back in 2019 and a new Special edition From the action title for next-gen platforms only a few months ago, the game director is now teasing what’s to come. While he hasn’t quite revealed what Capcom’s development team is working on, it looks like an announcement of some sort could be coming soon.

In a new Twitter post, Capcom’s Hideaki Itsuno released a new image and statement to celebrate the New Year. Itsuno began the tweet by begging players to donate the new Vergil DLC for The devil can cry 5 a shot if they haven’t already before mentioning what’s going to happen in the future. The beloved video game creator said his team’s next project is apparently in development alongside DMC5 and so far, he’s still on the right track. Itsuno ended his tweet by saying that this next game is still quite a ways away, but asked fans to be excited about its next reveal.

Obviously, the big question here is precisely what Itsuno and the team at Capcom are working on right now. While no blatant teases were found in this tweet, we do have some decent guesses as to what might happen next based on what has happened in recent years.

Dragon dogma 2, a sequel to the 2012 action-adventure title directed by Itsuno, seems like the most likely candidate to be what we’re working hard on. In the past, Itsuno has made it clear that he has wanted to make a sequel to the game for some time and has almost chosen to do so instead of developing. The devil can cry 5. Additionally, previous reports that have been released in recent months have asserted that Capcom is already actively developing Dragon dogma 2.

While it remains to be seen if this is indeed what Capcom is in the process of creating, as Itsuno suggests, it might take a little while to get it into our hands. Given that it is also so far away, what this game will eventually become will surely not be available on the latest gen hardware and will likely be designed only for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S and PC.

So do you think Itsuno and the rest of the Capcom team are actively doing Dragon dogma 2, or could this be a whole other project? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below or hit me up on Twitter at @ Mooreman12 to discuss further.
