Prince William and Kate Middleton seem to have the perfect story of love. Gathered together when they were young, their relationships certainly did not unfold without setbacks, including two public breaks, but they still managed to find each other.

Royal fans were thrilled when the couple finally announced their engagement after a number of years, each knowing that it was clearly meant to be together.

Looking at the relationship from Kate's point of view, most people will agree that it's hard not to fall in love with a prince – especially a prince too charming and handsome as Prince William. We know that William realized that he was enamored of his future wife when he watched her wander through a charity fashion show at the University of St. Andrews.

What we do not often hear about is how William understood he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Kate. So, what could have helped Prince William fall in love with Kate Middleton?

William grew up in the public eye

Being royal is not easy, as many family members will agree with it. The members of the royal family are constantly followed by photographers. As future king, William experiences it much more than some of his family members who are lower in the estate.

From the day of his birth, William's life was almost an open book, with everything from his first day of school to various girlfriends, which had made it news.

Kate, meanwhile, grew up and lived a typical family life in the village of Bucklebury, Berkshire, England.

Prince William lost his mother when he was very young

The death of his mother, Princess Diana, is one of the most heartbreaking events in William's life. It was only 15 years old at the time and there is no doubt that it has affected a lot in a way hard to imagine.

Even before her death, her parents were separated and then officially divorced, not living in the same household as their children would have preferred. William could not experience Kate's warm and intimate family dynamics.

Much of his time was occupied by nannies and he had been in the spotlight since his childhood. Kate, on the other hand, was a commoner before getting married in the royal family and her parents are still together to this day. Being around Kate's family was something that William really enjoyed every time he visited his girlfriend at the time.

Did it help Prince William fall in love with Kate Middleton?

It can not be denied that the Middleton family is extremely close. Kate and Pippa, in particular, spent a lot of time together and Vanity Fair reports that the sisters really enjoyed their time together at Wimbledon.

Before their marriage, Prince William admired the bond that all members of the Middleton family have between them.

In fact, he enjoyed his time with them so much and was so close to everyone that the Sun said he was lying on the couch, his head resting on Carole Middleton's lap. Not only that, but he spent hours in deep conversation with Kate's father, Michael.

It's wonderful that Kate's family is so close and that William could have been part of it as well. The closeness is what helped William fall in love with Kate and the whole family.
