Didier Drogba confirms Romelu Lukaku ‘comes home’ to Chelsea

[ad_1]

Exactly ten years ago to the day, Romelu Lukaku underwent a medical examination at Chelsea ahead of his official unveiling ten days later (although he had already trained with the club all this time), and according to reports , it does the same. Still today. Hopefully we don’t have to wait ten more days to formalize things this time around!

August 6, 2011: Lukaku fees agreed
August 8, 2011: Medical lukaku
August 18, 2011: Lukaku announced

Not that his return is really questionable at the moment, but like earlier today, we also got confirmation from a pretty nice source, like Didier Drogba took to Twitter to announce the return of Romelu.

Didier may or may not have personal knowledge of what’s going on with the transfer, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he did. At the very least, it is confirmation of what this transfer means for the club, and for the players involved directly and tangentially.

Lukaku has always been seen as Drogba’s long-term successor at Chelsea – note: not the ‘new’ or ‘next’ Drogba, but Drogba’s heir – and it looks like that could finally come true!

Here we are!
