Digimon Ghost game launched its opening and ending thematic sequences! There are plenty of new anime to come over the next few weeks as the fall 2021 anime schedule shifts into high gear, and with that comes a whole new take on the Digimon franchise. After celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary with a rebooted version of the original Digimon Adventure An animated series that started it all, Toei Animation and Bandai have returned to the drawing board for a whole new take on the franchise with a new trio from DigiDestined and a new tone for the series as a whole.
Debuting appropriately during the spooky October season, Digimon Ghost game seems to inject small elements of horror alongside the traditional Digimon action seen in the franchise’s command releases. You can get a little glimpse of this with a few major teases for the future of the anime in the new opening and ending themed sequences of the series. The opening theme of the anime is titled “FACTION” as performed by Wieners, and you can check it out in the video above. The ending theme is titled “Pedal” as performed by Aiiro Apollo, and you can find it below. Both are from Toei Animation themselves!
Digimon Ghost Game will premiere new episodes in Japan on Sunday, but they’ll hit other territories via Crunchyroll on Saturday night. There is no word yet on how many episodes this iteration of the franchise will last, and early additions to the cast include Mutsumi Tamura as Hiro Amanokawa, Miyuki Sawashiro as Hiro Gammamon’s partner, Yu Kobayashi as Ruri Tsukiyono. , Kazuya Nakai as Ruri’s partner, Angoramon, Akira Ishida as Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai, Yu Shimamura as Kiyoshiro’s partner, Jellymon, and Naoto Takenaka as “Ghost Navigator”.
Crunchyroll describes the first episode of the series as follows: “On social networks, rumors of a mysterious phenomenon, known as ‘Hologram Ghosts’, are spreading.
