Award-winning director Bong Joon Ho marks a new milestone in history by becoming the first to be named president of the jury of the ‘Venice Film Festival 2021‘from South Korea.

Alberto Barbera, artistic director of the Venice Film Festival, announced that director Bong would chair the jury of the film festival, saying: “He is one of the most authentic and original voices in world cinema. It is a pleasure and an honor to be able to share the joy of this moment with countless admirers, around the world, of his extraordinary films. “
Considered one of the three big film festivals, alongside Cannes film festival and Berlin International Film Festival, The Venice Film Festival is the only major festival to hold its event in person next September amid the COVID19 outbreak.
