Dragon Quest Builders 2

With Dragon Quest Builders 2 Now available on the Switch, the director of the series – Kazuya Niinou – has decided to leave Square Enix. After "about seven years" in the business, he now looks forward to a "new development environment" after working on two Dragon Quest games as a result.

It is believed that Niinou already has projects in place – with more details about his future to be revealed next week. Still, he would apparently continue to neglect Dragon Quest Builders 2 and act as an outside staff member for Square Enix. By saying this, there is no guarantee that there will be additional updates and downloadable content for the second game.

This talented person was previously director of Trauma Center: Under the knife on DS and the designer of Etrian Odyssey – who also started his life on the DS – during his time at Atlus. In addition to the Builders series, Niinou was deputy director of the 2013 MMO, Final Fantasy XIV: A Reborn Kingdom.

Have you played at any of the Dragon Quest builders? What about the other titles Niinou worked on? Would you like the above series to continue without him? Build a comment downstairs.
