Travis Knight has joined Warner Bros. for the film adaptation of the television series "Six Billion Dollar Man", with Mark Wahlberg attached to the star.

Sue Kroll, Bill Gerber and Steve Levinson complete the screenplay with Bill DuBuque.

"The Six Billion Dollar Man" is based on the sci-fi television series "The Six Million Dollar Man", which deals with a former astronaut, Colonel Steve Austin, described by Lee Majors. The character of the majors, employed as a secret agent, had a superhuman strength due to the bionic implants. The series spent five seasons on ABC between 1973 and 1978 and was based on Martin Caidin's novel, "Cyborg".

The studio repurchased the rights of the project in 2017 to the company Weinstein after the collapse of the studio and was looking for a director after the departure of Damian Szifron.

Knight has just released the "Transformers" suite "Bumblebee", which earned $ 466 million at the global box office, and was sought after by several studios before embarking on this project.

It is taken over by the CAA.
