Discord gets rid of Nitro's subscription game selection

Discord decided to no longer provide subscribers of Discord Nitro with a catalog of free games, announced the company in a blog article. Apparently, there were not many Nitro subscribers playing games. So when it was time to renew the game contracts, Discord thought it was better to let the contracts expire and cancel the service. Thus, subscribers to Nitro will lose access to the selection of games by subscription on October 15.

"We have learned a lot from you all over the last year, and thanks to your valuable feedback, it has become clear that even though some of us love these games, the truth is that the vast majority of Nitro subscribers have not read them so, after careful consideration, we will not hit Continue when these contracts are renewed, "reads the blog.

Nitro is a paid subscription service that offers additional benefits to Discord users, such as high-performance streaming and an upgrade download limit of $ 10 per month or $ 100 per year. There is also Nitro Classic, which offers the same benefits without the Server Boost benefit, and which costs $ 5 a month or $ 50 a year. Discord says that removing the games from the service will give them the "resources to refocus".

To clarify, Nitro subscribers will still have access to games until October 15th and all games purchased via Discord or Nitro Game Perks will continue to function normally. As for the games you access through your Nitro subscription, you have a little over a month to play them until they expire.
