Compared to other vehicles exhibited at the Overland Expo West, Rivian's ride is relatively docile, but it is still fully functional as a full-service all-terrain vehicle for a weekend camping getaway.

A tent mounted on the bed with an access ladder provides a comfortable sleeping for two people, while a roof rack provides additional storage space for the equipment. These are two fairly common elements for overlander. However, the Rivian R1T electric truck has a trick in its bag (or rather in its massive storage tunnel).

It's in this storage tunnel that lies its custom sliding kitchen with storage space for food, countertop and electric stove. Even more impressive, it is powered by the battery of the truck. According to Rivian, the battery is big enough to provide one week of cooking and consumes only 11% of the total capacity of 180 kWh.

Exploring the terrain, however, will consume the battery much faster, especially as Rivian considers the R1T to have a combined horsepower of 750 horsepower (559 kilowatts) generated by four electric motors. Its range is estimated at 400 miles per full charge, although it depends a lot on where and how it is driven.

Check out these new live images of the Rivian R1T electric pickup from its debut in Overland. This kitchen trundle is surely impressive.
