Marcus Lehto (a former creative director at Bungie who seems to have been co-creator of the Halo franchise), is leading the development of a new sci-fi shooter from Private Division and V1 Interactive called Disintegration.

The single-player campaign puts you in the role of Romer Shoal, "an expert in piloting a Gravcycle, a hovering quad-engine originally used for search and rescue missions turned into a armored chassis bristling with powerful weapons ". Shoal does not just unleash the firepower of the Gravcycle on the battlefield. He also commands a unit of soldiers on the ground. The key to victory is to use the Gravcycle weapons, which are the experience part of the FPS, and to strategically move your infantry units onto the battlefield.

Disintegration It will also feature three different multiplayer modes to launch on a "variety of cards", although this component has yet to be unveiled. Players can choose from different land units in multiplayer, "each with a unique charge and role in combat".

Straight out of Gamescom, here is the first full trailer of the game …

"Disintegration This is not your standard first person shooter and this will challenge your approach to the fighting space, "Lehto said in a press release. "You will explore a world forever transformed by an ongoing global conflict. As we all know, the only way to save lives is to make strategic decisions in every fight, both as an armed Gravcycle pilot and as your crew commander.

The official synopsis of the game offers this tease of the story: "In Disintegration, Players will travel in the near future, when humanity will be on the brink of extinction and turn to technology in the hope of survival. Through a process called integration, the human brain is removed and surgically wrapped in a robotic frame. A domineering enemy superpower known as Rayon emerges, driven mad by their new supremacy, and begins to capture what remains of humanity by forcing them into a robotic integration. "

Disintegration is expected to come out in 2020. And if you want to know what other games you have to watch next year, check out our list of titles not to be missed.
