Disney and Actors’ Equity Union reach deal, entertainment cast members must receive COVID-19 vaccine

After announcing yesterday that most unionized Cast Members should now be vaccinated, Disney announced that the Actors’ Equity Union had also struck a deal, according to Central Florida’s News13.

Entertainment Cast Members syndicated with the Actors’ Equity group will need to be fully immunized by October 22. It comes after The Walt Disney Company made the vaccine mandatory for all salaried and non-union Cast Members.

As with other groups of Cast Members subject to the vaccine requirement, waivers for religious and medical reasons are available. Cast Members who are not vaccinated and do not benefit from an exemption will be separated from the company.

Entertainment is slowly making a comeback at Walt Disney World theme parks, in part because of the necessary health and safety procedures.
