Disney Cruise Line announced on Friday that it had suspended all departures until the end of February.
The move continues cuts to the company, which has seen layoffs and the end of vehicles such as Radio Disney in recent days, as the fallout from the pandemic ruthlessly attacks the bottom line.
Disney Cruise Line has stated that it “remains focused on the health and wellness of our guests and team members. We continue to carefully review guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and are working to resume operations. “
Disney canceled all cruises until February 28 on Friday. This includes cruises aboard Disney Magic until February 25, Disney Wonder and Disney Dream until February 26, and Disney Fantasy until February 27.
Customers who have paid for a reservation on the affected crossings will have the choice of a full refund or cruise credit for future travel.
Disney Cruise Lines is not the only one to postpone its trips.
MSC Cruises announced Thursday that all crossings from US ports through February 28 are now canceled. Carnival Cruise Line, Carnival Corp.’s flagship line, said on Wednesday it would cancel more sailings in 2021.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. announced Wednesday that it had extended its navigation suspension for the three cruise lines it operates. Sailings through February 28 are off the boards, with a few additional trips canceled in March. For subsidiaries Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, all itineraries up to March 31 have been canceled.
Earlier this week, Royal Caribbean Group, the parent company of Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea Cruises and Azamara Cruises, canceled most crossings around the world until February 28, 2021, with a few additional crossings canceled until April 30.
