Disney honors Chadwick Boseman’s birthday with tribute

Boseman, who died in August after a private battle with colon cancer, played the role of T’Challa / Black Panther in the Marvel superhero franchise.

Disney President Bob Iger tweeted on Saturday alerting that something was about to happen.

“To all #BlackPanther fans: watch the movie on #DisneyLater tonight for a special tribute to someone who was and always will be close to our hearts,” the tweet read.

This turned out to be a new opening credit for the movie “Black Panther” currently streaming on Disney +.

The tribute of just over 30 seconds shows clips of Boseman and was shared by the official Marvel Studios Twitter account.

No announcement has yet been made on how the studio plans to handle the cast of “Black Panther 2”, which is set to shoot in 2021.
