U.S. equity futures fell slightly Friday, putting the S&P 500 on track to end the week with muted gains after hitting its ninth closing record for 2021.

The University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index for the first few weeks of February, at 10 a.m. ET, is expected to drop to 80.8 from 79.0 by the end of January.

Markets to watch
